كتاب النار والجنةThe Book of Hellfire and Paradise
التَّعَوذُ مِنَ النَّارِ وَسُوَّالُ اللَّهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَنَّهُمَا أَقْرَبُ إِلَى الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ شِرَاكِ نَعْلِهِSeeking refuge from the Fire and asking Allah for Paradise, and that they are closer to a person than his sandal strap
Hadith 13201

وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”الْجَنَّةُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَى أَحَدِكُمْ مِنْ شِرَاكِ نَعْلِهِ وَالنَّارُ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Paradise is closer to you than the strap of your sandal, and so is Hell.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is only a matter of approaching death; everything will become clear, and the preliminaries of either Paradise or Hell will begin. We ask Allah for Paradise and seek His protection from the Fire.
