It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, the scales will be set up. A man will be brought forward, he and his deeds will be placed in the pans of the scale, but the scale will be lifted upwards. Then he will be sent towards Hell. As he is being taken away, a caller from Allah will call out: Do not hurry, do not hurry, he still has one good deed left. Then a slip will be brought on which "La ilaha illallah" will be written. Then it will be placed again in the pan with that man, as a result, that pan will become heavy.

Brief Explanation
Benefits:
1. From the hadiths of this chapter, it is understood that on the Day of Resurrection, at one stage, the records of deeds of people will be flying in the air, and people will try to catch their own records. Some will receive their record of deeds in their right hand, and some in their left hand.
2. It is also understood that at three occasions, no one will remember anyone else: near the Scale (Mizan) when deeds are being weighed; and when the records of deeds are flying and every person will be concerned with obtaining his own record—whether he receives it in his right hand or in his left hand; and the third occasion is when crossing over the Bridge (Sirat).
3. It is also understood that the Bridge (Sirat) is finer than a hair and sharper than a sword, and it is over Hell (Jahannam). Every person will have to cross over it.
4. And people will cross over it according to the measure of their deeds: some at the speed of sight, some at the speed of lightning, some at the speed of the best swift horses, some at the speed of ordinary riders, and some will cross stumbling, falling, and wounded, but will cross nonetheless. However, the disbelievers, rebels, arrogant, polytheists, innovators, and those disobedient to Allah Ta'ala will be seized by the angels and will fall down into Hell.
5. Likewise, on the Day of Resurrection, a very large neck will emerge from Hell; it will seize the polytheists, deniers of the Hereafter, and the rebellious and disobedient people and throw them into Hell.
6. It is also understood from this chapter that on the Day of Resurrection, scales will be set up to weigh the deeds of people. In these, the people themselves and their deeds will be weighed.
7. And at the time of deeds, there will be a person whose sins will be very many; he will be sent towards Hell, but it will be said from Allah Ta'ala that he still has one good deed left with Us. Thus, a paper will be brought on which "La ilaha illallah" will be written. By its blessing, he will be saved. What is meant by this is that he did not commit shirk (polytheism) throughout his life, and his belief in tawhid (the oneness of Allah) was firm. Despite his sins, solely due to the blessing of the belief in tawhid, he will enter Paradise. And all praise is due to Allah.
