Hadith 13047

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunayf, he says: I heard a companion stating that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Do not disturb the Abyssinians as long as they leave you alone, because the one who will extract the treasures of the Ka'bah will be an Abyssinian with thin shins.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The background for granting this concession regarding the Abyssinians was that the region of Abyssinia was very far from the lands of the Muslims, and reaching it required great effort and hardship. A similar situation applied to the Turks: their region was very cold, whereas at that time the land of the Arabs was hot, and the Turks were also very fierce in battle. Considering these matters, the instruction was given to observe conditional silence. However, if it so happens that they invade the lands of the Muslims, then it will become obligatory for everyone to fight them.

By the "treasure of the Ka'bah" is meant the wealth buried within it. Due to the aforementioned evil of the Abyssinians, the instruction was given not to initiate war with them.
