Aamir Sha’bi says: I came to Madinah Munawwarah and went to Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her). She narrated to me that during the time of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), her husband had divorced her. Then she narrated the incident regarding her maintenance and residence, and her marriage to Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him). (This hadith has already been mentioned in the chapter: “The Maintenance and Residence for a Revocably Divorced Woman and a Pregnant Woman with an Irrevocable Divorce.”) Aamir says: When I intended to leave, Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to me: Sit down, I will narrate to you a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) once entered the mosque, led the Zuhr prayer, and then sat down. The people became anxious seeing his state and condition. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: O people, sit down. I have not stood up from here due to any worry. The matter is that Tamim Dari (may Allah be pleased with him) came and told me something, and because of it I was so pleased and comforted that I could not even take my siesta. I want you also to hear this glad news from your Prophet. He told me that a group of his paternal cousins were on a sea voyage. A strong wind began to blow and it drove them towards an island. They were not familiar with this island. During the storm, they boarded a small boat and reached the island. There they saw a strange creature, covered entirely with hair. They could not even tell whether it was a man or a woman. They greeted it with salam, and it replied to their salam. They said to it: Will you tell us something? It said: No, I will neither tell you anything nor ask you anything. This is the monastery of monks. Now you have come close to it, and inside is a person who is very eager to hear your words. He will tell you some things and ask you some things. We asked it: What are you? It said: I am Jassasah. Then those people went and reached the monastery. There was a man bound with strong chains, grief and sorrow apparent on him, and he was expressing his pain. They greeted him with salam, and he replied to their salam. He asked: Who are you people? They said: We are Arabs. He asked: What are the Arabs doing? Has their Prophet appeared? They said: Yes. He asked: What did they do with him? They said: They treated him well, believed in him, and affirmed his words. He said: That is best for them. He had an enemy, but Allah made that Prophet prevail over him. Then he asked: Are all the Arabs now united in worshipping one God, and is their religion and word one? They said: Yes. He asked: Tell me about the spring of Zughar, what is its condition? They said: It is fine, people drink from it and irrigate their fields. He asked: What is the condition of the date palms between Amman and Baisan? They said: They are fine, their fruits are eaten every year. He asked: What is the situation of the Lake of Tiberias? They said: It is also full. Hearing this, he jumped up and swore: If I come out from this place, I will travel the whole earth except for Taybah (i.e., Madinah Munawwarah) and Makkah Mukarramah. After this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is the height of my happiness. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said this three times. Indeed, Taybah refers to Madinah Munawwarah. Allah has made it forbidden for Dajjal to enter it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) swore: By Him besides whom there is no god! On every wide and narrow path leading to Madinah Munawwarah, there is an angel of Allah standing with a sword until the Day of Judgment. Dajjal will not be able to enter Madinah Munawwarah from any path. Aamir Sha’bi says: Then I met Muharrar bin Abu Hurairah. I narrated to him this hadith which I had heard from Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her). He said: I bear witness that my father also narrated this hadith to me in the same way as Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated it to you, except that he also said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He (Dajjal) is in the direction of the east. Aamir says: Then I met Qasim bin Muhammad. I also narrated to him this hadith which I had heard from Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her). He said: I bear witness that Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated this hadith to me in the same way as Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated it to you, except that Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) also stated that both Makkah Mukarramah and Madinah Munawwarah are sacred precincts, forbidden to Dajjal.
