Rashid bin Sa’d says: When Istakhr was conquered, a caller announced: Beware! The Dajjal has appeared. Upon hearing this, Sayyiduna Mus’ab bin Juthamah (may Allah be pleased with him) went to the people and said: If what you are saying were not so, I would have told you that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Dajjal will not appear until such a time comes that people become completely heedless of his mention and the imams, that is, the preachers, stop mentioning him from the pulpits.
