It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: If I were to swear ten times that Ibn Sayyad (i.e., Ibn Siyyad) is the Dajjal, this would be more beloved to me than swearing once that he is not the Dajjal. The matter is that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me to his mother and said: Go and ask her how long she carried this child in her womb. I went to her and asked her about this, and she informed me that she carried him for twelve months. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me again and said: Go and ask what his cry was like at birth. I went to her again and asked her this question, and she informed me that his cry was like that of a one-month-old child. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: I have concealed something in my heart (what is it)? Ibn Sayyad said: You have concealed from me the words "Khatm Shatin 'Afraa' wa al-Dukhan." He wanted to say "al-Dukhan," but he did not have the strength to say the whole word, so he said: "al-Dukh... al-Dukh..." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Be humiliated, you will not be able to go beyond your status.
