وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”أُبَشِّرُكُمْ بِالْمَهْدِيِّ يُبْعَثُ فِي أُمَّتِي عَلَى اخْتِلَافٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَزَلَازِلَ فَيَمْلَأُ الْأَرْضَ قِسْطًا وَعَدْلًا كَمَا مُلِئَتْ جَوْرًا وَظُلْمًا يَرْضَى عَنْهُ سَاكِنُ السَّمَاءِ وَسَاكِنُ الْأَرْضِ يَقْسِمُ الْمَالَ صِحَاحًا“ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مَا صِحَاحًا قَالَ ”بِالسَّوِيَّةِ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ“ قَالَ ”وَيَمْلَأُ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ غِنًى وَيَسَعُهُمْ عَدْلُهُ حَتَّى يَأْمُرَ مُنَادِيًا فَيُنَادِي فَيَقُولُ مَنْ لَهُ فِي مَالٍ حَاجَةٌ فَمَا يَقُومُ مِنَ النَّاسِ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ فَيَقُولُ ائْتِ السَّدَّانَ يَعْنِي الْخَازِنَ فَقُلْ لَهُ إِنَّ الْمَهْدِيَّ يَأْمُرُكَ أَنْ تُعْطِيَنِي مَالًا فَيَقُولُ لَهُ احْثِ حَتَّى إِذَا جَعَلَهُ فِي حِجْرِهِ وَائْتَزَرَهُ نَدِمَ فَيَقُولُ كُنْتُ أَجْشَعَ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَفْسًا أَوَ عَجَزَ عَنِّي مَا وَسِعَهُمْ قَالَ فَيَرُدَّهُ فَلَا يَقْبَلُ مِنْهُ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ إِنَّا لَا نَأْخُذُ شَيْئًا أَعْطَيْنَاهُ فَيَكُونُ كَذَلِكَ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ أَوْ ثَمَانَ سِنِينَ أَوْ تِسْعَ سِنِينَ ثُمَّ لَا خَيْرَ فِي الْعَيْشِ بَعْدَهُ أَوْ قَالَ ثُمَّ لَا خَيْرَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ بَعْدَهُ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When discord will be rampant among my Ummah and earthquakes will be occurring, I give you the glad tidings of Mahdi, who will fill the earth with justice and fairness just as it was previously filled with oppression and tyranny. All those in the heavens and the earth will be pleased with him. He will distribute wealth among the people with equality, and Allah Almighty will fill the hearts of the Ummah of Muhammad with contentment. His justice and fairness will reach everyone. He will order a caller to announce: “Whoever is in need of wealth, let him come.” Upon hearing this announcement, only one man will stand up. Mahdi will say to him: “Go and tell the treasurer that Mahdi commands you to give me wealth.” The treasurer will say to him: “Take as much as you wish.” When he fills his cloak with a great amount of wealth and ties it up, he will feel remorse and say: “Among the Ummah of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), I turned out to be the most impatient. Has that thing which reached all of them become insufficient for me?” So he will return that wealth, but Mahdi will not accept it from him, and it will be said to him: “Whatever we give, we do not take back.” For seven, or eight, or nine years, such prosperity will prevail, after which there will be no good in living.

Benefits: … Shaykh al-Albani has mentioned the following narration in Silsilah Sahihah:
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id radi Allahu anhu reports that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “Al-Mahdi will appear in the last part of my Ummah. Allah will grant him rain, the earth will bring forth its vegetation, he will distribute wealth justly, livestock will increase, the Ummah will become great in number, and he will live for seven or eight years.” That is, (he will live) for (seven or eight) Hajj seasons. … In the last era of my Ummah, Mahdi will emerge, Allah Almighty will send down rain, the earth will produce crops, he will grant people the best wealth, livestock will become abundant, the number of the Ummah will increase, and he will live for seven or eight years. (Hakim: 4/557-558, Sahihah: 711)
