Hadith 12908

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Hour will not be established until it happens that wild beasts speak to humans, the tip of a man's staff and the strap of his sandal speak to him, and a man's thigh tells him what his family did after him.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri radi Allahu anhu, who says: “A wolf attacked a sheep and seized it. The shepherd pursued it and snatched the sheep away from it. The wolf then sat on its tail and said: ‘Will you not fear Allah! You snatch from me a provision that Allah has brought to me?’ The shepherd said: ‘How astonishing! A wolf sitting on its tail speaks to me in the language of humans.’ The wolf then said: ‘Shall I not inform you of something even more astonishing than this? Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has appeared in Yathrib and informs people of the news of what has passed.’ The shepherd then began to drive his sheep until he entered Madinah, gathered them in a corner of the city, and then came to the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and informed him of the entire incident. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam then ordered that the call “al-salatu jami‘ah” be announced. When the people had gathered, he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam came out and said to the shepherd: ‘Inform them of what happened.’ So he informed them of the incident. Then the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ‘He has spoken the truth. By the One in Whose hand is my soul! The Hour will not be established until wild beasts speak to people, the end of a man’s whip and the strap of his sandal will speak to him, and a man’s thigh will inform him of what his family did after him.’” (Tirmidhi: 2181, see: Hadith no. 10484)
