Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Will the mu’adhdhins surpass us in virtue because of their calls to prayer? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Whatever (words) they say while giving the adhan, you also repeat them, then when you finish, ask (Allah), (whatever you ask for) will be given to you.
