It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The Hour will not be established until the land of the Arabs returns to being meadows and rivers, and until a traveler journeys from Iraq to Makkah fearing none but getting lost on the way, and killing (harj) will become widespread. The companions asked: O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by harj? He, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: Killing.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Shaykh al-Albani rahimahullah said: In some regions of the Arabian Peninsula, the signs and indications of the prophecy made in this blessed hadith have begun to appear. Various scenes of the descent of Allah Ta'ala’s bounties and blessings are being witnessed; water is being extracted from the desert land for irrigation through different devices. It was also published in some local newspapers that there is consideration being given to a project to divert the course of the Euphrates towards the Arabian Peninsula; it is possible that this project may reach completion.
Maulana Mawdudi says: The head of the Department of Shari‘ah in Tabuk, Shaykh Salih, informed that this spring had been continuously gushing forth for nearly fourteen hundred years until two years ago; later, tube wells were dug in the lower areas, so the water of this spring was diverted towards those tube wells. After being distributed among approximately twenty-five tube wells, this spring has now dried up. After this, Shaykh Salih also took us to one of the tube wells, where we saw that a four-inch pipe was installed and, without any machine, water was gushing out of it with full force. We were told that nearly the same condition exists in the other tube wells as well. This is the blessing of the miracle of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam; today, there is such abundance of water in Tabuk that, except for Madinah and Khaybar, we have not seen so much water anywhere else. In fact, the reality is that the water of Tabuk is even more than in those two places. By benefiting from this water, gardens are now being planted everywhere in Tabuk, and in accordance with the prophecy of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, the region of Tabuk is filled with gardens and is increasing day by day.
