Hadith 1287

Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever, upon hearing the muezzin, recites this supplication: ((And I also bear witness that there is no deity except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. We are pleased with Allah as Lord, with Muhammad as Messenger, and with Islam as religion.)) … then his sins are forgiven.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … When should this supplication be recited? In the words of the blessed hadith, there is a possibility that what is meant is the first "ashhadu an la ilaha illallah" or the last "la ilaha illallah." The latter seems more appropriate, because in the middle of the adhan, the response should be given to the words of the adhan. Readers should carefully read the text and act according to the appropriate situation; insha Allah, reward will be attained. And Allah knows best.
