It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: A wolf came towards a shepherd and took away a goat from his flock. The shepherd chased after it and rescued the goat from it. The wolf climbed up a high mound, stood on its forelegs, sat on its haunches, and said: I intended to take the sustenance that Allah Almighty had granted me, but you snatched it away from me. The shepherd said: I have never seen such a sight until today, that a wolf speaks like humans. Hearing this, the wolf said: You are amazed at my words, but even more amazing is that between the two Harrahs, in the gardens of date palms, there is a man who tells people about matters of the past and the future. That shepherd was a Jew. When he came and narrated the entire incident to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, affirmed it and said: Animals speaking like humans is also among the signs of the Hour, and soon a time will come when a man will leave his house, and in his absence, whatever his family has done, upon his return, his shoes and staff will inform him of everything.
