It is narrated from Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), the servant of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I will be present at the edge of my reservoir, pushing people back so that the people of Yemen may come near and drink water easily. I will wave my staff over the people. He was asked about the width of the reservoir of Kawthar, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Its width will be equal to the distance from my place here to Oman. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the nature of its drink, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It will be whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. Two streams from Paradise will flow into it, one of gold and the other of silver.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … During the lifetime of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and after him, all those who came from Yemen as Muslims were distinguished by good qualities, such as Uways al-Qarani and Abu Muslim al-Khawlani. There was soundness in their hearts and strength in their faith (iman). The reason for attributing faith (iman) to them is that their faith was complete. The greatness of the people of Yemen can be gauged from this hadith: Sayyiduna Umar ibn al-Khattab radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “A man named Uways will come to you from Yemen. He will have left behind only his mother among his family in Yemen. He used to suffer from leprosy (phal bahri), and he prayed to Allah, so Allah removed his illness except for a spot the size of a dirham or dinar. Whoever among you meets him should ask him to pray for forgiveness for him.” (Muslim) How great a virtue this is, that the Companions are being instructed that they should request Uways al-Qarani to supplicate for their forgiveness.
