Hadith 12725

وَعَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”إِذَا فَسَدَ أَهْلُ الشَّامِ فَلَا خَيْرَ فِيكُمْ وَلَنْ تَزَالَ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي مَنْصُورِينَ لَا يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ حَتَّى تَقُومَ السَّاعَةُ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Qurrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the people of Syria fall into corruption and disorder, then there will be no goodness left among the Muslims, and a group from my Ummah will always be helped by Allah; those who oppose them will not be able to harm them in any way until the Day of Judgment.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The region of Sham is among the blessed lands. Allah, the Exalted, has made it, in addition to Bayt al-Maqdis, a center of His apparent and hidden bounties and blessings. The fertility and lushness of the region are evident, and inwardly, this land has been the homeland of the Prophets. Generally, the people are naturally inclined toward goodness and are followers of the true religion; especially now, goodness is found among the people of Jordan and Lebanon. In the end times, the descent of ‘Isa (alayhis salam) will also occur in this region. For this reason, migration toward this area has been encouraged. The political and non-political tribulations that we observe are all temporary, and no region is free from them; these, insha’Allah, will come to an end when the time comes.
An example is this: The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “The place of the Muslim encampment during the battles will be a land called al-Ghutah.” (Abu Dawud: 4640)
Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda’ (radi Allahu anhu) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Indeed, the encampment (center) of the Muslims on the day of the great battle will be at al-Ghutah, near a city called Damascus, which will be among the best cities of Sham.” (Abu Dawud: 4248)
