Hadith 12715

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ubaidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the last words of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) were: Expel the Jews of Najran from the Arabian Peninsula, and remember that the worst people are those who made the graves of their prophets places of prostration.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Jazirat al-Arab: The region over which the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, and then the Tigris and Euphrates have dominion, or, in terms of length, the area from between Aden and Abyan up to the outskirts of Sham (Greater Syria), and in terms of width, the area from Jeddah up to the outskirts of the inhabited regions of Iraq, is called Jazirat al-Arab (the Arabian Peninsula).

Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas radi Allahu anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((AKHRIJŪ AL-MUSHRIKĪN MIN JAZĪRAT AL-‘ARAB.)) (Bukhari, Muslim) … Expel the polytheists from the Arabian Peninsula.

Sayyiduna Umar ibn Khattab radi Allahu anhu fulfilled this command of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, as Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu says that Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu exiled the Jews and Christians from the land of Hijaz, and when the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam conquered Khaybar, he intended to expel the Jews from there. At that time, the land of Khaybar had become the property of Allah, His Messenger, and the Muslims. The Jews requested the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam to allow them to remain in Khaybar; they would work and give half of the produce to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam accepted their request and said: We will allow you to stay here as long as we wish. So they remained there until Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu exiled them towards the regions of Tayma and Ariha. (Bukhari: 2338)
