It is narrated from Nafi' bin Jubair that Marwan delivered a sermon to the people and mentioned Makkah and the sanctuary of Makkah. Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) addressed him in a loud voice and said: If Makkah is a sanctuary, then Madinah Munawwarah is also a sanctuary, which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) declared as a sanctuary, and we have this matter written on Khawlani leather. If you wish, I can read that document to you. So Marwan also said loudly: Yes, yes, we also know about this matter.
