It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Abasah Salami (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was inspecting horses, and Uyainah bin Hisn bin Badr Fazari was also present with him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Uyainah: I have more understanding about horses than you. Uyainah said: And I have more insight about people than you. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: How is that? He said: The best and most virtuous people among the people are those who carry their swords on their shoulders, place their spears on the necks of their horses, and wear cloaks made in Najd. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You have spoken incorrectly. The truth is that the best among the people are the people of Yemen; the most valuable faith is the faith of the Yemenis, that is, the people of Yemen. He was referring to the tribes named Lakhm, Juzam, and Amilah, and the past people of the Ma’kul branch of the Himyar tribe are better than the present people, and the tribe of Hadramaut is better than Banu Harith, and it happens that one tribe is better than another or one tribe is worse than another. By Allah! I do not care at all if both tribes of Harith are destroyed. May Allah curse the four kings: Jamda, Manhusa, Musharifa, and Budha, and the similar Umr Datt. After this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My Lord commanded me to curse Quraysh twice, so I cursed them, and the Lord Almighty commanded me to pray for mercy for them, so I prayed for mercy for them twice. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Asiyyah has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger, but among them, the tribes of Qais, Ja’dah, and ‘Asiyyah have been protected from disobedience. After this, he said: Aslam, Ghifar, Muzaynah, and the other tribes of Juhaynah will be better in the sight of Allah Almighty than Banu Asad, Tamim, Ghatafan, and Hawazin. Among the Arabs, the tribes of Banu Najran and Banu Taghlib are the worst, and in Paradise, the individuals of Madhhij and Banu Ma’kul will be more than those of the other tribes.
