Hadith 12551

عَنْ طَارِقٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ”اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ أَذَقْتَ أَوَائِلَ قُرَيْشٍ نَكَالًا فَأَذِقْ آخِرَهُمْ نَوَالًا“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Allah, You punished the earlier people of Quraysh, so now bestow blessings upon the later people of Quraysh.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The early people of Quraysh were afflicted with trials such as killing, defeat, humiliation, wrath, famine, and high prices. Then the supplication of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was accepted, and when they became Muslims, they were enriched with blessings such as caliphate and leadership, honor and kingship, bounty and respect, and victory.
