عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: ”خَيْرُكُمْ قَرْنِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ.“ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ: لَا أَدْرِي ذَكَرَ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا، ”ثُمَّ خَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ قَوْمٌ يُحِبُّونَ السَّمَانَةَ، يَشْهَدُونَ وَلَا يُسْتَشْهَدُونَ.“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The best time for you is my era, then the one after that." Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, says: "I do not know whether he, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned this twice or three times." Then he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "After that, there will come people who will love obesity and will give testimonies without being asked for them."
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … What is meant by liking obesity is that people will pay great attention to foods and drinks, which become the cause of obesity, and indeed, some people actually prefer obesity to a reasonable extent; individuals with a single (thin) body and those who are skinny are not liked.
