Hadith 1252

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The muezzin is forgiven to the extent his voice reaches, and every dry and wet thing bears witness for him. For the one who performs prayer in congregation, twenty-five good deeds are written, and the sins committed between the two prayers are erased.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … This is the honor of the muezzin that he becomes deserving of such vast forgiveness, and it is also correct to state its meaning as a simile and metaphor, that is, even if, hypothetically, his sins were spread out over such an expanse, they too would be forgiven.

Inanimate objects, animals, plants—in short, every thing in the universe possesses knowledge, perception, and consciousness; it is not necessary that humans be aware of the nature of these qualities. Allah, the Exalted, has said: {وَاِنْ مِّنْ شَیْئٍ اِلَّا یُسَبِّحُ بِحَمْدِہ} (Surah Al-Isra: 44), meaning: Every thing glorifies Him with His praise. Further, He said: {وَاِنَّ مِنْھَا لَمَا یَھْبِطُ مِنْ خَشْیَۃِ اللّٰہِ} (Surah Al-Baqarah: 74), meaning: And some stones fall down for fear of Allah. According to the narration in Sahih Muslim, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: I recognize that stone which used to greet me with salam. And in the narration of Sahih Bukhari, it is mentioned that the Fire of Hell said: Some parts of me are consuming other parts. There are many examples of this reality in the Qur’an and Hadith. Therefore, it is not far-fetched that non-human creation should bear witness in favor of the muezzin.
