It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, during a journey, that he performed eight rak‘ahs of prayer at the time of Duha. After completing the prayer, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Today I have prayed with utmost eagerness and fear of Allah. I made three supplications to my Lord; He accepted two of my supplications and did not accept one. I supplicated that He would not afflict my Ummah with famine, and He accepted it. Then I supplicated that their enemy would not overpower them, and He accepted this supplication as well. And I supplicated that there would be no discord among them, but Allah, the Exalted, did not accept this supplication of mine.
