It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We returned from a journey with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and we passed by the mosque of Banu Mu’awiyah. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque and performed two units of prayer, and we also prayed with him. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated to Allah for a long time. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I asked my Lord for three things. I asked that Allah not destroy my ummah by drowning; Allah accepted my prayer. I asked that He not destroy my ummah by famine; Allah also accepted this prayer. I asked that there not be discord among them; Allah did not accept this prayer.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … In one region, there may be severe famine, and in another region, people may even be drowned in water. The meaning of the supplication of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is that, due to these trials, the entire Ummah will not be destroyed, as used to happen to the previous nations.
