عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَدِيٍّ قَالَ شَكَوْنَا إِلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مَا نَلْقَى مِنَ الْحَجَّاجِ فَقَالَ اصْبِرُوا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَأْتِي عَلَيْكُمْ عَامٌ أَوْ يَوْمٌ إِلَّا الَّذِي بَعْدَهُ شَرٌّ مِنْهُ حَتَّى تَلْقَوْا رَبَّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ
It is narrated from Zubair bin Adi, he says: We complained to Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) about the oppression of Hajjaj. He said: Be patient, I heard your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "No day or year comes upon you except that the one following it is worse than the one before, until you meet your Lord, the Mighty and Majestic."
