It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Asr prayer, then came to my house and performed two rak‘ahs. I said: O Messenger of Allah! You have performed such a prayer which you do not usually perform? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some wealth had come, and it kept me occupied. In another narration, it is stated: A delegation from Banu Tamim had come to me, and it prevented me from performing those two rak‘ahs which I used to perform after Zuhr, so I have now performed them. I said: O Messenger of Allah! If these two rak‘ahs are missed by us, should we make them up? He said: No.
