Hadith 12409

عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ عَنْ يَعْلَى الْعَامِرِيِّ أَنَّهُ جَاءَ حَسَنٌ وَحُسَيْنٌ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُمَا يَسْتَبِقَانِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَضَمَّهُمَا إِلَيْهِ وَقَالَ ”إِنَّ الْوَلَدَ مَبْخَلَةٌ مَجْبَنَةٌ وَإِنَّ آخِرَ وَطْأَةٍ وَطِئَهَا الرَّحْمَنُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِوَجٍّ“
It is narrated from Ya'la Amiri that Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them) came running towards the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) embraced both of them and said: Indeed, children become a cause of miserliness and cowardice, and after the conquest of Makkah, the last seizure of the polytheists by the Most Merciful took place in the Battle of Ta'if at the location of the Valley of Wajj.
