It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The leader of the Khawarij will be struck down, that is, killed, by a man from Banu Bajilah. Someone asked Sufyan: Is this narration reported from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)? He replied: Yes.

It is narrated from our master Sa’d bin Malik radi Allahu anhu that he heard the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam mention the man with the breast, who was found killed among the people of Nahrawan. Regarding him, the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “The devil of the mountain cave (i.e., from the Khawarij) will be brought down by a man from Banu Bajilah named Ashhab or Ibn al-Ashhab, meaning he will kill him. This will be a sign of an oppressive people.” Imam Sufyan said: When ‘Ammar al-Dahni narrated this hadith, a man from our family brought the man from Bajilah, and I think he was from Dahin and was called Ashhab or Ibn al-Ashhab.
