It is narrated from Hanzala bin Khuwailid Anbari, he says: I was present with Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) when two men came to him; both were disputing over the head of Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him), each of them claiming that he had killed him. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It is better that one of you willingly concedes this matter to his companion (for this is not something to be proud of). I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: A rebellious group will kill Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If this is the case, then why are you with us? He replied: My father went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained about me, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me that as long as your father is alive, obey him and do not disobey him. That is why I am with you, but I do not participate in the fighting.
