الفَضْلُ الْخَامِسُ فِيْمَا جَاءَ فِي تَارِيخِ قَتْلِهِ وَالصَّلَاةِ عَلَيْهِ وَدَفْنِهِ وَمُدَّةٍ خِلَافَتِهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُThe Fifth Virtue Regarding What Has Been Narrated About the Date of His Killing, the Prayer Over Him, His Burial, and the Duration of His Caliphate, may Allah be pleased with him
Hadith 12283

وَعَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ فَرُّوخَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ دُفِنَ فِي ثِيَابِهِ بِدِمَائِهِ وَلَمْ يُغْسَلْ
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Farukh, he says: I was present at the funeral of Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), he was buried in his blood-stained clothes and was not given a bath.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The manner in which Sayyiduna Uthman radi Allahu anhu was martyred, the martyr (shaheed) in such a case is prepared for burial and shrouded (tajhiz wa takfin) like an ordinary deceased person; the rulings for a martyr (shaheed) who is killed on the battlefield are different.
