It is narrated from Sayyida Na’ila (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of Sayyiduna ‘Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Commander of the Faithful, Sayyiduna ‘Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him), dozed off and slept. Then when he woke up, he said: “These people will certainly kill me.” I said: “Insha’Allah, never; such a thing has not happened yet. Your subjects are only trying to frighten you.” He said: “I saw in a dream the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). They said: ‘Tonight you will break your fast with us.’”
