Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The preferred meaning of the last sentence of this hadith is: such a person should perform that prayer from the next day onwards at its prescribed time, and he should not make it a habit to perform the prayer after its time has passed. As in the wording of the narration of Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah radi Allahu anhu in Sahih Muslim: ((… fal-yusalliha heena yantabihu lahaa, fa idha kana al-ghad fal-yusalliha ‘inda waqtihā.)) … Thus, when he wakes up, he should perform the prayer, but on the next day he should perform it at its prescribed time. The meaning of this sentence is not that such a person should repeat that prayer at its time again on the next day.
