It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I was sleeping when I saw (in a dream) that I was standing by my reservoir, drawing water and giving it to people to drink. Then Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, came to me and, to give me relief, took the bucket from my hand. He drew one or two buckets, but there was some weakness in his action. After that, Ibn Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, took the bucket from me—may Allah forgive him—and he kept drawing water continuously until all the people drank their fill and went back, and the reservoir was overflowing.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The interpretation of this dream is the caliphate of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq radi Allahu anhu and Sayyiduna Umar al-Faruq radi Allahu anhu, respectively. The weakness of the former and the drawing of one or two buckets means that he will not be able to serve the Muslims for a long time; issues such as denial, apostasy, and discord and turmoil will arise, and he will pass away soon. All these shortcomings were fulfilled by Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu; his era of caliphate was a time of honoring the religion and raising the word of Allah, and the banner of tawhid began to wave in the East and the West.
Gharban refers to the large bucket made from the hide of a buffalo or ox, which is used to irrigate fields or gardens.
The meaning of the last sentence of the hadith is that during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu, Islam will spread and the conquests will be so numerous that people will become satiated with wealth and riches.
