It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) asked her, "On which day did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pass away?" She replied, "On Monday." He said, "Masha Allah, I feel that I will pass away tonight." He asked, "In what kind of clothes did you shroud the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" She replied, "In three white garments made in the Sahool village of Yemen; there was neither a shirt nor a turban among them." He said, "This garment of mine has a saffron stain on it, wash it and add two more garments to it." Sayyida (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "Father! This is old." He said, "A living person is more deserving of new clothes; the shroud is for pus (decayed body)." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) had given him a striped sheet, in which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was also wrapped. Then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was taken out of it and shrouded in three white garments. Afterwards, Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) kept that sheet for himself and said, "I will have my shroud made from the cloth that has touched the blessed body of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." Then later he said, "By Allah! I will not have myself buried in such a garment in which Allah did not allow His Prophet to be buried." Then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away on the night of Tuesday and was buried that very night. And when Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) passed away, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) also buried her at night.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq radi Allahu anhu held the caliphate for two years, three months, and ten days, and on the night of Tuesday, at the age of sixty-three years, in the latter part of Jumada al-Awwal in the year 13 Hijri, he departed on the journey to the eternal world. In accordance with his will, his funeral preparations and burial were carried out that very night. The noble wife of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, Sayyida Asma bint Umays radi Allahu anha, performed the ritual bath (ghusl). Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu led the funeral prayer, and Sayyiduna Uthman, Sayyiduna Talha, Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman ibn Abi Bakr, and Sayyiduna Umar lowered him into the grave. In this way, the companion of the Master of the Universe sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, by being buried beside him sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, attained everlasting companionship in Paradise.
