Sayyida Umm Fadl (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I went to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I saw in a dream that a part of your body was in my house or in my room, and I became anxious because of it. But the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If Allah wills, Sayyida Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) will give birth to a son and you will take care of him. So Sayyida Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) indeed gave birth to Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) and entrusted him to Sayyida Umm Fadl, and she nursed him with the milk of Sayyiduna Qutham (may Allah be pleased with him). One day, I brought Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) to visit the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took him and placed him on his chest, and the child urinated on the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) chest, and it reached his lower garment. I struck Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) between his shoulders with my hand, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah set you right, you have caused pain to my son. Or the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: May Allah have mercy on you. Then I said: Please give me your lower garment so that I may wash it, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Only the urine of a girl is washed, and for the urine of a boy, water is poured over it.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Qutham: This is the son of Al-Fadl. The meaning of “from her milk” in terms of breastfeeding is that when she was nursing Hasan (according to one narration, Husayn), at that time Qutham was a small child and was himself suckling from his mother. Thus, it is as if Hasan drank from the share of Qutham’s milk.
