Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyidah Umm Sharik radi Allahu anha is well-known by her kunyah; her name was ‘Uzaylah or Ghuzziyyah or Ghaziyyah. She was married to Abu al-‘Askar ibn Sami ibn Harith al-Azdi al-Dawsi, and she gave birth to Sharik from him. For a woman to offer herself in marriage (as a gift) to someone, and for that person to marry her himself or have someone else marry her, this was a special privilege (khasiyyah) of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and it is not the right of any caliph or member of the ummah.
