It is narrated from Sayyida Asma’ (may Allah be pleased with her) that on the occasion of migration, I prepared provisions for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at the house of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him). We could not find anything to tie the bag and the water-skin. I said to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him): By Allah! There is nothing available to tie this luggage except my waistband. Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Tear it into two parts and tie the food with one and the water with the other. For this reason, Sayyida Asma’ (may Allah be pleased with her) was given the name “Dhat an-Nitaqayn” (the possessor of two waistbands).
