Kunya (Honorific Titles)
بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي أَبِي مَالِكِ نِ الْأَشْعَرِى وَاسْمُهُ عبيد رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُChapter on What Has Been Narrated Regarding Abu Malik al-Ash'ari, whose name is Ubayd, may Allah be pleased with him
Hadith 11961

أَبِي ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثَنَا حَرِيزٌ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ عُبَيْدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيمَا بَلَغَهُ دَعَا لَهُ ”اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى عُبَيْدٍ أَبِي مَالِكٍ وَاجْعَلْهُ فَوْقَ كَثِيرٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Malik Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that it reached him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made this supplication for him: O Allah! Send mercy upon Abu Malik Ubaid and grant him superiority over many people.
