Hadith 11954

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ يَقْرَأُ فَقَالَ ”لَقَدْ أُعْطِيَ هَذَا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ النَّبِيِّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ“
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Qais, that is, Abu Musa Ash'ari, may Allah be pleased with him, reciting (the Qur'an), and said: He has been granted a melodious voice like that of Allah's Prophet Dawud, peace be upon him.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash‘ari radi Allahu anhu is a highly esteemed Companion. His real name is Abdullah bin Qais bin Sulaym bin Hadhar. In the books of hadith, he is generally mentioned by his kunyah. Before the Hijrah, he went to Makkah Mukarramah and embraced Islam, then migrated to Abyssinia (Habashah). Afterwards, he had the honor of migrating from Abyssinia to Madinah Munawwarah. His arrival in Madinah Munawwarah from Abyssinia took place after the conquest of Khaybar. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam appointed him as governor over Zubaid, ‘Adan, and the coastal regions of Yemen, and the Commander of the Faithful, Sayyiduna ‘Umar bin Khattab radi Allahu anhu, also appointed him as governor over the regions of Kufa, Basrah, Ahwaz, Isfahan, and others. He passed away at the age of sixty-three in the year 44 AH.
