Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Yusuf radi Allahu anhu was the son of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Salam radi Allahu anhu; his mention has already occurred previously. Imam Bukhari said: He attained the honor of companionship (suhbah). Ibn Sa’d mentioned him in the fifth category of the Companions. However, Imam Abu Hatim said that he only had the opportunity to see the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, but did not attain the honor of companionship, i.e., staying in his company. The statement of Imam Bukhari is the preferred one. He passed away during the caliphate of Umar bin Abdul Aziz.
