عَنْ أَبِي الْجُوَيْرِيَةِ عَنْ مَعْنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ السُّلَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَا وَأَبِي وَجَدِّي وَخَاصَمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَفْلَجَنِي وَخَطَبَ عَلَيَّ فَأَنْكَحَنِي
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ma'n bin Yazid Salami, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: I, my father, and my grandfather pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. I brought a matter to the service of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, so he judged in my favor, and by sending a marriage proposal for me, he arranged my marriage.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Ma'n bin Yazid radi Allahu anhu was a Companion of the Messenger. He first resided in Kufa, then moved to Egypt, and finally made Damascus his home. He participated in the conquest of Damascus. He held an acknowledged status with Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu. During the wars between Sayyiduna Ali radi Allahu anhu and Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah radi Allahu anhu, he was with Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah radi Allahu anhu.
