It is narrated from Ubaid bin Juraij that he asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): O Abu Abdur Rahman! You do four such acts that none of your companions do. He said: Ibn Juraij! Which ones are those? Ibn Juraij said: I have seen you, while performing Tawaf of the House of Allah, touch only its two Yemeni corners. I have seen you use shoes made of leather without hair and dyed. I have seen you dye your hair or clothes with yellow color, and when people in Makkah begin reciting Talbiyah upon sighting the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah, you do not recite Talbiyah until the Day of Tarwiyah, that is, the eighth of Dhul-Hijjah. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: As for your first question, that while performing Tawaf of the House of Allah I touch only its two Yemeni corners and not the other two Iraqi corners, the reason is that I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) touch only those two Yemeni corners of the House of Allah. Your second question is about the shoes made of dyed leather without hair; I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) wear such shoes made of dyed leather without hair, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) would even perform ablution in them, so I also wear the same kind of shoes. As for dyeing hair or clothes with yellow color, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) dye with this color, so I also prefer to dye with this color. And as for your question about Talbiyah, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would not recite Talbiyah until his she-camel stood up to depart for the journey of Hajj.
