Hadith 11804

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: I saw a dream in which it was as if I had a precious piece of silk in my hand, and wherever I pointed with it in Paradise, it would carry me along and take me there. My sister, Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Hafsa, may Allah be pleased with her, related this dream of mine to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, so he said: Your brother Abdullah is a righteous and pious man.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu migrated along with his father, Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu, and his mother, Sayyidah Zaynab bint Maz'un radi Allahu anha. After the Battle of Badr and the Battle of Uhud, he participated in all the battles. In the Battle of Uhud, he was not permitted to participate because he was considered too young. When he participated in the Battle of Khandaq, he was fifteen years old at that time. He was a mujtahid (independent jurist) and a scholar of religion, extremely devoted to obedience to the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, a well-wisher of the Ummah, and very far removed from innovation (bid‘ah). He rendered religious services in Islam for sixty years. Imam Nafi‘ widely disseminated his knowledge. He passed away at the end of the year 73 Hijri or at the beginning of the year 74 Hijri.
