It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah was asked about the time of the Fajr prayer. So, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to give the Iqamah when the dawn appeared. Then, on the next day, he performed the prayer when it was light (after some brightness had appeared), and said: Where is the one who asked about the time of the Fajr prayer? Its time is between these two times.
