حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ نَحْوَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَا ابْذَقَرَّ يَعْنِي لَمْ يَتَفَرَّقْ وَقَالَ لَا تَكُنْ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ الْقَاتِلَ وَكَذَلِكَ قَالَ بَهْزٌ أَيْضًا
Sulaiman, another student of Humaid bin Hilal, also narrated this hadith from him in the same manner. However, instead of the word "ma abdhara," he used the word "ma abdharaqa," though the meaning and sense of both are the same. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Do not become a servant killed by Allah Almighty.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Some individuals have counted Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Khabbab bin Aratt radi Allahu anhu among the Tabi‘in, but from the books containing the mentions of the Companions, such as al-Isabah and others, it becomes clear that he is not a Tabi‘i but rather a Companion (Sahabi).
