Hadith 11735

(11492) عَنْ سَفِينَةَ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ: أَعْتَقَتْنِي أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ وَاشْتَرَطَتْ عَلَيَّ أَنْ أَخْدُمَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم مَا عَاشَ۔
It is narrated from Abu Abdur Rahman Sayyiduna Safina (may Allah be pleased with him), who says: Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) set me free and placed this condition upon me that as long as the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is alive, I will continue to serve him.
Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Safinah radi Allahu anhu was, in this respect, the slave of Sayyidah Umm Salamah radi Allahu anha, because she had freed him. However, by this association, he was the slave of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, as he had stipulated the condition of serving him sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
