Hadith 11729

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the funeral of Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) was placed, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that for his sake, the Throne of the Most Merciful, the Mighty and Majestic, shook.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … The Throne of the Most High shaking at the departure of the soul of Sayyiduna Sa'd radi Allahu anhu was due to Allah Ta'ala's happiness, as is evident from the following narration.

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri radi Allahu anhu reports that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "The Throne shook at the death of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh out of the joy of the Lord, Mighty and Majestic." … When Sa'd ibn Mu'adh radi Allahu anhu passed away and the Lord Ta'ala was pleased, the Throne shook. (Narrated by Tamam in al-Fawa'id 3/2, al-Sahihah: 1288)

Allah Ta'ala granted His Throne the awareness of this matter, due to which it too expressed joy at the arrival of the soul of Sayyiduna Sa'd radi Allahu anhu. This is a unique and tremendous virtue and merit of Sayyiduna Sa'd radi Allahu anhu. What kind of treatment will Allah Ta'ala bestow upon such a great personality! Subhan Allah!
