Hadith 11719

(Second narration) Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I saw myself with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and I was the seventh person in the group who had embraced Islam. We had nothing for food except the leaves of thorny trees, and when we relieved ourselves, we would pass droppings like goats, and this excrement was not sticky. But now the Banu Asad mock me about Islam; if what they say is true, then I am at a loss and all my deeds have been wasted.

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Sa'd radi Allahu anhu was the governor of Kufa, but the people of Kufa complained to Sayyiduna Umar radi Allahu anhu that their governor did not lead the prayer in a proper manner. Sayyiduna Sa'd radi Allahu anhu is alluding to the complaint of these argumentative people.
