Hadith 11694

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the manuscripts of the Noble Qur’an were being written, I lost track of one verse. I myself used to hear this verse from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but I could not find it written with anyone. Eventually, I found it written with Sayyiduna Khuzaymah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him). Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah; some of them have fulfilled their vow, and some of them are still waiting, but they have never changed (their commitment) in the least. (Surah Al-Ahzab: 23) Sayyiduna Khuzaymah (may Allah be pleased with him) was called Dhu’sh-Shahadatayn, meaning “the possessor of two testimonies.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) considered his single testimony equal to two testimonies. Zuhri says that he was martyred at the time of Siffin in the company of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him).

Brief Explanation
Benefits: … From this chapter, the greatness, virtue, and firmness of faith of Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit al-Ansari radi Allahu anhu become evident, in that he was not present in a certain matter, yet solely on the basis of affirmation and faith in the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he became a witness. And this point occurred only to him, and Allah Ta'ala, through the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, granted him this honor that his single testimony was considered equal to two testimonies.
