Brief Explanation
Benefits: … Sayyiduna Hassan bin Thabit radi Allahu anhu was the poet of Islam and the poet of the Messenger. By the force of his poetry, he would silence the enemies of the Messenger. In this regard, he also had the assistance of Jibril alayhis salam.
In the era of the Prophet, to demoralize the enemies, they would be condemned through poetry, and these poetic collections would rain down upon them like a calamity. As Sayyiduna Ka‘b bin Malik narrates, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: “By Him in Whose hand is my soul! (When you recite poetry condemning the enemies), it is as if you are pelting them with arrows by what you say to them in poetry.” (Sahihah: 1949) … I swear by the One in Whose hand is my life! The poetry you recite condemning the enemies is like raining arrows upon them.
