It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him): My mother asked me, "When did you last meet the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" I replied, "I have not been able to meet him for such a long time." She reproached me severely. I said, "Dear mother! Please allow me to go to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I will not leave him until he prays for forgiveness for me and for you." So I went to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). I performed the Maghrib prayer in his company. When he finished the prayer, he stood and began to offer additional (nafl) prayers until he performed the ‘Isha prayer. After that, he went outside. In another narration, the words are: He asked me, "What is the matter?" I mentioned the whole incident to him, so he prayed thus: "May Allah forgive you and your mother."
