عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا أَنَّ حَاطِبَ بْنَ أَبِي بَلْتَعَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كَتَبَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ يَذْكُرُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرَادَ غَزْوَهُمْ فَدَلَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمَرْأَةِ الَّتِي مَعَهَا الْكِتَابُ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Hatib bin Abi Balta’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter to the people of Makkah informing them that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to attack them, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed the noble Companions about the woman who had that letter … The rest of the hadith is similar to the previous hadith.
